Most of us think that pregnancy nausea appears only in the first trimester. However, this is far from reality. Many women experience morning sickness and nausea through out their pregnancies, well stretching in to their third trimester. Pregnancy nausea in the third trimester is not an uncommon thing and is also not dangerous.
Although the statistics do not reflect the frequency of this physical condition appearing in third trimester, yet it is something that most pregnant woman would agree upon. The exact reason for morning sickness is yet unknown. But there is a common perception about this. The feeling of nausea are caused as the body reacts with the HCG hormone, the secretion of which is much higher during pregnancy.
The experts have formulated another theory for pregnancy nausea in the third trimester. Your baby would be much bigger at this stage and so naturally the uterus would be heavier and larger. This creates little room for the stomach to expand after the meals. So, the nausea is caused when there is an instance of over eating and the stomach needs to expand for that.
In order to tackle this issue, you can divide your food consumption into several small meals. This will not create undue pressure on your stomach and will also help you feel less cumbersome. And all women in their third trimester would agree that any means to feel less heavy at this stage is more than welcome. But at the same time, you should not decrease your intake of food so that there is no chance of malnutrition or anemia.
You can also adopt certain precautionary measures to tackle the feeling of nausea. Morning sickness in the third trimester, much like in first trimester, is triggered by smells. They are usually food smells and you need to avoid any such item, which causes similar reaction in your body. Light exercise is usually recommended at this stage of pregnancy, and this might also help you to deal with morning sickness.
But more rigorous exercising can be harmful and quite impossible at this stage. Women in their third trimester usually feel a little worn out and tired and additionally the continuance of the morning sickness can cause draining of all the energy.
You can keep yourself motivated by acknowledging the fact that this will last only for few more days. And after that, your baby will be born and that will make all these discomfiture worthwhile.
