Light spotting and missed period. Negative Pregnancy Test. Any suggestions?

Question by krbaker1: Light spotting and missed period. Negative Pregnancy Test. Any suggestions?
Four days before my expected period, I began to have light brownish spotting occur (would not even fill up half a pad per day). This lasted for three days, then I had really really light pinkish spotting occur for a day and a half after that. I have been on birth control for the past two years and I have NEVER had a period like this in my entire life. The week of my period I had very watery secretion coming out that would stain my underwear. As of now it is 8 days since the expected start date of period. On day 5 I took a first response pregnancy test and it was negative. I am sexually active, but it has been only with one person for a very long time, so STD’s would not be an issue. I’ve also had a pap recently (within the last month and a half) and there was nothing unusual. Any suggestions on what could be wrong with me?
Edit: I have not been on any medications, I just graduated from college in May and moved. I don’t FEEL stressed out right now (things seem to be working out good for me) but who knows… I NEVER miss a pill, and I take them religiously at the same time everyday.
There has been one change in my routine – which is my job – I work 10 hours a day from 6 am to 4 pm in the afternoon, this is the only thing I could relate to this. But I worked the same hours last summer and never had any of the same problems… I enjoy my job, so I don’t feel stressed at it. But the change in schedule is the only non-pregnancy thing I can relate it to.

Thanks girls.

Have you been on any medication? Been stressed lately? If the efficiency of the pill has lowered for some reason it can cause spotting and weird periods. Did you miss any pills?

I’m irregular Can I go back on taking birth control pills after I missed a period & a negative pregnancy test?

Question by Curious: I’m irregular Can I go back on taking birth control pills after I missed a period & a negative pregnancy test?
I have irregular periods and was on the pill continuously for 2 years. A few months ago I went off of it. Now I’m sexually active again and I missed my period on this past month of July. I took a pregnancy test and came out to be negative. I plan to go back on the pill as soon as possible and not wait for the next period to come this month of August, possibly. I thought of maybe going back on the pill and not for my next period to arrive. Is it possible? Would there be side effects?

It is probably going to be ok but I would recommend checking with your doctor first to see what they say about this.
