you rarely ever get a false positive. certain preg tests need a higher hgc level before it will read positive. i’d say that she is indeed pregnant.

    VERY rare that there’s ever a false positive pregnancy test.

    My doctor told me that you cant get a false positive on a test only a false negative. If 2 were positive id say she’s pregnant. she needs to go to the doctor and get a blood test to confirm for sure.

    well she needs to tell some1 she was raped. this is a very serious thing!!!! tests can come up diffrently. take 1 early in the morning. like the first morning pee. also she doesnt NEEEED to tell any one but she should go to a clinic to be tested and get a pregnancy test. good luck.
    ps…i dont suggest keeping a baby that was brought onto her by rape. she may resent that baby and should seriously think about odoption.

    Has she missed her period? Maybe she should make sure to get the early result test….
    False negatives are likely but its rare to get a false positive so if she got a positive test its pretty good to assume she’s pregnant….
    sorry =[

    Ok, if the rape took place at the time of ovulation then theres a good chance of her being pregnant. So she will need to do another test tomorrow morning if she doesn’t want to go to the Dr. Sometimes a pregnancy doesn’t take to the uterus so it passes out and that could explain why she got + then -. Further testing needs to be done to confirm or eliminate. I hope that she didn’t let this guy get away with raping her and she has reported it to the police. Good luck with it all.

    most hpts pick hcg levels at 25. However, some pick them up even earlier. So, if she used a test that picks up levels at 25 or higher then they might have come up negative, but if she used more sensitive tests to begin with, they could have in fact registered a positive. Like the others have said, it’s very rare to get a false positive but you can definitely get false negatives.

    I’m so sorry about her circumstances. This is a really hard time for her.

    If ANY of the tests said positive, she has conceived. She’s very brave to even consider carrying the child. This is bound to be a big shock to her, esp in light that the event only occurred a month ago.

    It would be good for her to talk to a rape crisis counselor. They will respect that she wants to carry the baby, but they will be able to help her get past the hurt and violation of the event.

    You’re a good friend.

    Aww, your friend is very brave and is an amazing person for not aborting the child regardless of the fact that he/she was conceived because of rape.

    Anyways, it’s very uncommon to get a false positive. Some of the cheaper hpts require higher levels of the hormone in order to detect it and come out positive. I would say she’s definitely pregnant, just have her go to the doctor to get a blood test done, which will confirm it for sure. And most importantly, be there for her, I’m certain she needs it.

    Good luck :)

    A pregnancy test is never wrong when positive. It is only wrong when it gives a false negative.
