Question by MalloryBurns.: Missed Period, Negative Pregnancy Test, and now spotting?
My period has now been ten days late, and I took two at home pregnancy tests that both came out negative. Then today I thought I started my period, but it was just spotting. What could this mean?
Keep the answers respectful and mature.
I have been under an extreme amount of stress, I have not gained or lost any weight, we used protection but the condom did slip off once or twice.

Well
Dear your periods might be late or they will not start in usual order . Just wait for a day and more then visit your doctor.

No need to be scared hun. There could be a possibility you are pregnant. I would just wait it out for a couple more weeks and see what happens. If you don’t want to do that then go to the DR and have a blood test done. A blood test will show if you are pregnant or not and be more accurate.
There are several things it could be from. 10 days late is kinda really late, but some young girls can skip a whole period before they adjust to their normal cycle and become regular.
Pregnancy is possible, because some people will test negative with the at home tests. But its doubtful, its a very small people who would show a false negative on 2 tests. There’s a possibility you were pregnant and miscarried before you took the tests….
The spotting could indicate your period is about to start so it could be on its way and delayed due to stress, sickness, or a type of medication.
Whatever the reason, you should be seen by an ob/gyn.
They can test you for stds, or other infections, and check for any other problems.
If the test is saying negative then im sure your not pregnant. Did you just stop bc pills? My period was 17 days late back in November, that was the first time my period was ever that late. I would say the stopping could be your period starting but if you dont have anymore bleeding I would call your OBGYN to see whats going on.
The chance that both tests would be false negatives after ten days is quite slim. In addition, spotting isn’t a sign of pregnancy, not ten days after a missed period. It’s more likely that you’re about to get your period. What seems to be more revealing is the fact that you’re under a lot of stress. I have a friend, for instance, who misses her period entirely every single semester around finals time. Stress does bizarre things to your cycle.
