Question by coleyolie: how soon after sexual intercourse can you take a pregnancy test?
If you had sexual intercourse and partner was inside of you and released sperm how soon can you take a home pregnancy test? I had my last period at the start of the month. Do I have to wait till my next period or have to wait a certain amount of days?
should i not worry and just wait to see if i get my period or better off taking a preg test. I just dont want to get a negative and find out that it was to soon that i took it and end up preg
should i be waiting for a missed period or take the test a few days after?

Pregnancy doesnt usually result until 24-48 hours after intercourse. And it takes a little while (different for everyone) for the body to release the substance a pregnancy test looks for. So, you’re looking at atleast 48 hours for a pregnancy test to show positive if you are pregnant. I’d say wait a week, then take the test.

Check the instructions on the tests in the store. Some of them you don’t have to wait for a missed period but you may have to wait a few days for them to work.

You can take it as soon as you can get to the bathroom. However, it’ll show negative for a minimum of a week and a half. Best to wait at least that long, or you’re wasting money.

you can take a pregnancy test 3 days after sexual intercourse. you posibility pregnant if you have sexual 2-3 week after menstruation, count from 1st day menstruation.

A standard pregnancy test will prove positive 10-14 days post-intercourse. if you are negative after 14 days, it is unlikely you are pregnant. The commercial test kits are puported to be as accurate as doctor’s test at 14 days post-intercourse…

i have 2 kids and with both i tried a pregnancy test before my ‘missed period’ and they came up negative.. so you’d be safe waiting til you miss it. And you won’t be wasting your money! Those things can get expensive. Don’t worry about it until you have reason to believe you are pregnant.
