I was late for my period so I took a pregnancy test and it said I was negitive. I had unprotected sex with my husband that night. They say to wait until your missed period but I was already two days late. And it has now been two days since and still no period. So when can I take another pregnancy test with accurate results??

most test say you can get accurate results up to two weeks before your missed period, but i would wait about a week and take another one

  2. malt_soda says:

A pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken the day of (or after) your expected period. Wait a week and try again, or see your doctor for a blood test.

There is NO way you can take a test 2 weeks before your missed period.. that is bogus! That would be on the night you conceived and the egg wouldn’t have even implanted yet.
You are fertile 14 days after the first day of your last period (with a normal 28 day cycle). Some tests can be positive at 10 days past ovulation or 24 days after the start of your last period.
But I never get positive preg tests til a few days after my missed period.
